A Piece of History
An 1878 barn, built when space came naturally.
23A Salisbury Street · Est. 1878
Originally the barn to Lord Milner’s manor house. Today it has been tastefully converted into four luxury heritage suites, embracing contemporary comfort. Preserved, not replicated.
Built in the Victorian face-brick tradition in a utilitarian style — functional, thick face-brick walls, simple and strong. With an English Bond pattern and segmental arches, this is one of Cape Town's finest examples of classic 1870s Victorian utilitarian architecture.
Historic 1878 shell outside, vibrant spacious designer comfort inside.
Located in quiet Woodstock, you're in the sweet spot. Table Mountain on your doorstep, the CBD five minutes away, the V&A Waterfront and airport ten minutes. The best of Cape Town without the noise. Whether it's a weekend escape or a month-long stay, The 1878 is built for staying a while.
