Cancellation policy

Minimum stay
Two-night minimum
All bookings require a minimum stay of two nights. Single-night stays are not available.
Payment
Payment in full
The full amount is paid at the time of booking. Your reservation is confirmed once your payment has been received and matched to your booking, not at the moment you pay. Card payments are processed securely by Peach Payments with 3-D Secure.
Travel insurance
Strongly recommended
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, interruption, medical expenses and personal liability. The 1878 is not liable for costs arising from events outside its control.
Modifications
Date changes
Changes to booking dates are subject to availability and may be treated as a cancellation and re-booking under the terms above. Please contact us as early as possible.
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. By completing a booking you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these cancellation and booking conditions. Refunds, where applicable, are processed to the original payment method within 10 working days. To the extent permitted by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, The 1878 and its owners accept no further liability.
