House Rules
A few simple things
So you, the neighbours, and the next guests all have a good stay. Most of it is common sense — the essentials are below.
- No smoking or vaping Anywhere indoors. A cleaning fee applies if you do.
- No parties or events A quiet home in a residential street, not a venue.
- Only the guests booked Please don't bring extra overnight visitors.
- Quiet after 22:00 Sound carries in the courtyard — keep it low at night.
- The gate remote stays Leave it in the suite on checkout — replacements are charged.
- Treat it as your own You're liable for any damage during your stay.
- No pets We're unable to accommodate animals.
- Check-out by 10:00 Later checkout on request, subject to availability.
The fine print
By checking in you accept these house rules. Breaking them — including smoking, unregistered guests, parties or disturbance — entitles us to end your stay immediately and without a refund. You are responsible for the suite and its contents during your stay and liable for any loss or damage caused by you or your guests, fair wear and tear excepted; a security deposit may be pre-authorised and charged for any damage or breakage. To the extent permitted by South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, The 1878 and its owners accept no liability for injury, loss or theft of personal belongings on the property.
